Winners of PA
B.A.S.S. Youth Tournament at Pymatuning

The PA Junior State Team Tourmament for the PA B.A.S.S. Federation
Nation was held at the Pymatuning Reservoir on Sunday, May 1st. In the 15-18 age group, Forrest Evans, from the Harrisburg-based
Capital City Jr. Bassmasters club, brought in a bag of four largemouth and
landed a winning weight of 9.35 lbs. by fishing jigs and crayfish-style
plastics. The 16 year old from East Berlin enjoys the competitive nature of
bass fishing and has earned a spot on the PA Divisional Team, making him
eligible to participate in the B.A.S.S. Federation Mid-Atlantic Championships.
In the 11-14 age group, Koltyn Eason, from Dauphin, PA, took
first place with a sack of largemouth weighing 6.24 lbs. The 13-year old is also a member of
Captial City Jr. Bassmasters and has competed in three state tournaments. He credits his victory to texas-rigging
a blue-fleck power worm. His favorite aspect of tournament fishing is catching
the first and last fish of a limit.
A total of six
youth clubs from PA were represented in the tournament, with 31 youth
participants. Sixty one bass were caught totalling 113 pounds. Winners, their club locations,
and weights are listed below:
15 to 18 age group
1st- Forest Evens, Capital City (Harrisburg)

2nd-Michael Salerno, West Penn (Penn Hills) (9.14 lb.)
3rd- Jesse Erb, Johnstown Christian (Johnstown) (7.70 lb)
11 to 14 Age Group
1st- Koltyn Eason, Capital City (Harrisburg) (6.24 lb.)
2nd- Austin Gaab, JR Bass Buster
(Williamsport) (4.89 lb)
3rd- Brent Engleman, JR Bass Busters (Williamsport) (3.83 lb.)
