Presidents Message:

Dear Fellow PA Federation Nation Members:

In January 2009 I was elected President of the West District of the PA Bass Federation Nation.  I would like to thank all who supported my candidacy and I would like to assure you that I will do all in my power to continue the efforts of Jim Delesandro, our State President, who lead us through the troubled waters, we have just navigated.

My gratitude goes out to President Delesandro who has impressed me since I met him at the first State Meeting that I attended in 2003.  Jim stood very tall among all the members at this meeting as he demonstrated his desire to protect the members and the money of the organization.  President Delesandro has represented this District with the utmost professionalism and dedication.  To put is simply, we are better off as a result of his leadership.
Please thank Jim personally if you see him and encourage him to continue to assist us in the future of our District.

Although we have reached a protected harbor and are no longer concerned about the troubled waters we have just navigated, we have additional room to grow.

Just as it was the goal of Past President Delesandro and his team of Jim Adams, Vice President; Wayne Proctor, Treasurer; Bob Kalakewich, Secretary and Tom Malacki, Tournament Director to move our organization through these troubled times; I would like to offer the following goals for my term as your President.
  1. 1.  I would like to continue the fine work of the Past President and his team.  We have learned    a   great deal in what we have had to endure in the past couple of years and it would be silly not to keep our guard up against further deterioration of our organization.
  2. Since we compete against other Districts and States, I would propose that we endeavor to provide training and education for our anglers (GPS/Sonar Training Schools; fishing seminars and safety training for all of our anglers).  This training should benefit our teams that compete against states and regions we fish against.
  3. I would also propose that we find the proper sponsors to help us increase the payouts at District Tournaments to $2,500.00 without increasing the tournament entry fees.
The above-mentioned goals may seem optimistic but I am reminded of a quote from an unknown source.  “Bite off more than you can chew, then chew it.  Plan more than you can do, then do it.

I am sure that these goals can all be met but it is going to take an effort from all of to move our organization to the next level.

Join me in making our District the best in the Nation.
